Product Description
60 hours. That is the amount of time a single craftsman spends on the hand engraving on each Ruby. Crafted by our dedicated team of artists, each one may vary slightly but all are awe inspiring. The Ruby is the most luxurious (and rightfully expensive) over/under we make. Instead of simply listing features, we want to give you the background of why each piece is so special. The metal is the ideal blend of steel with high carbon content and a splash of manganese and chromium for hardness and rust resistance. Why is this important? We didn’t choose a soft blend of steel for the ease of our artisans – we chose what would give you the best shotgun. The woods utilized must be at least a Grade 3.5, which typically 3/100 stocks qualify for this grade. In addition, during quality control, we will regularly dismiss a stock if after fitting and shaving, it has lost some of it’s beauty that qualified it as a Grade 3.5. Our internal rejection rate of Ruby stocks for not meeting our second round of standards is about 8%. The trigger internals were redesigned 6 times before we felt the take-up, break and reset matched our demands and then we nickel coated it all for even more lubricity and a smoother feel. To call this gun a work of art is almost an insult to the gun but we will accept the comparison begrudgingly. You will not be disappointed with this truly one-of-a-kind piece.
